K-TOR Power Box Review and Giveaway

If you haven’t heard of K-TOR yet, they have some really great alternatives to traditional energy problems. They offer human powered energy alternatives that have so many uses. I was given the K-TOR Power Box to review and I have to say, I’m pretty impressed.

The Power Box is a pedal powered generator that can be folded down flat for easy storage and is super light weight and compact. The possibilities are really endless when you have the K-TOR Power Box by your side.

In the event of a power outage, you’ll still have the ability to charge up electronic devices such as a cell phone so that you still have communication with the outside world. You can power a radio to hear any announcements that will keep you informed. Almost anything you can think of, you can accomplish with the Power Box. If you plan on traveling through an area that isn’t highly trafficked, you can even throw the K-TOR Power Box in your trunk along with a battery charger. Should you be in a situation where you need a jump, just pedal for 10-12 minutes and you’ve got enough power to start your car.

Whatever way you find to use the Power Box, you’ll see for yourself how beneficial it is to have around. It’s simple enough to use that even my 3 year old is able to keep the power flowing. So simple that a toddler can use it, yet effective enough to quite possibly save your life.

Luci EMRG Review

Luci EMRG is one of the most epic inventions you will probably ever come across. It is a solar powered, inflatable, collapsible emergency lantern that you can either take camping or keep it home for when there’s a power outage. Even if you are a prepper it would come in very handy for when you needed an alternate light source.

The fact that the Luci EMRG is solar powered is absolutely something that I love. You have no need to worry about an open flame causing more dangers and possibly an already dangerous situation, and you don’t have to worry about having extra batteries. All you need is a little sunlight and you’re good to go. After an 8 hour charge you have 7 hours of light usage, and when storing the Luci EMRG it will keep up to 95% of its battery for months

Luci EMRG has four different light functions. There is a bright, superbright, SOS, and strobe function. When you are using the SOS light I love how Luci EMRG flashes SOS Morse code in red light then again and white light and alternates back and forth between the two. If you are stuck and somebody can’t hear you, there’s a good chance that they will be able to see the light before they will hear you and you will have a better chance of getting rescued.

I just can’t get over how simple yet functional the Luci EMRG is and I will definitely be buying more to keep on hand as well as give them as gifts. I can see every single person I know finding a function for the Luci EMRG.

Buy Emergency Foods Review

As I have mentioned before, I am preparing a stock of goods so that in a time of emergency I know my family will be able to survive. Buy Emergency Foods is one of the biggest emergency foods providers I could find. They have an amazingly wide variety of products. There’s sure to be something for everyone.

I tried the Legacy Premium Classic Chili Mix and I was pretty impressed. You can tell by reading the ingredients that this is not your run of the mill product and you’ll actually have some flavor. There are no allergens and it is simple to prepare.

All around I’m super pleased with every aspect of the mix. It stores well, cooks quickly, and is extremely filling. The taste was probably the most surprising thing for me. I have a favorite brand of chili that I always buy and said I’d never switch so for this to taste better than that says a lot.

I will definitely be shopping with Buy Emergency Foods for my families personal preparation needs. Not only is it practical, convenient, and a great price point, it also tastes good which will help feel more comforting in a time of emergency or national disaster.

An Introduction to Prepping

Prepping is a subject you will start seeing on my blog. For those if you who don’t know, prepping is basically preparing yourself for a doomsday scenario. Something that would change life as we know it. The more I sat back and started thinking, it actually sounded practical.

I started thinking, “what would happen in a catastrophic situation? What would happen to my kids? How long could I keep them alive?” I was terrified at the realization that, at best, I could keep my kids fed for a week, maybe even only a few days. That absolutely had to change.

Over the past few months I have been slowly but surely starting to try and make sure we survive much longer than a week if anything life-changing were to happen. I have been buying a few extra things at the store each time I go, but it all adds up. I have at least a few weeks worth of food put away for my family of 5, and the food stock is growing all the time.

I’m also trying to prepare for practical needs. Things like medical supplies, alternate sources of power, lights, ability to cook, ability to heat, all of these are going to be staples of staying alive.

You can only store so much food, so I am also storing fruit and vegetable seeds. My goal is to have enough food to sustain our family until we were able to harvest our own fresh foods. They will also be great bartering items in a world where there’s no money and food, especially fresh food, is in high demand.

Okay, I know there are some of you who are reading my post thinking “this woman has gone bananas”. Do I know for sure that there’s going to be a catastrophic situation? No, I don’t. But, I’m not willing to take that chance. I love having the peace of mind that if something were to happen, I will be able to keep my family alive. In the future I will be reviewing items that can come in handy every day, or especially handy for people that are preppers. If anything, I hope you keep these products in mind and start preparing things for your family as well.
