When you think of Valentine’s Day, what’s the first food item that comes to mind?  I’m willing to bet you said chocolate!  Below you’ll find some great chocolate-filled recipes that you can make with the MB2e device.

 

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

 

Ingredients:

  • 4 teaspoons Magical Coconut oil 
  • 24 large ripe strawberries, washed and thoroughly dried
  • 4 ounces semisweet dark chocolate, chopped
  • 2 ounces white chocolate, chopped

Directions:

  1. Add 2 teaspoons of the infused oil to the dark chocolate, and melt. Gently stir.
  2. Grasping the green tops, slowly dip the strawberries one at a time ⅔ of the way into the melted chocolate. Let the excess run off for a moment. Arrange them uniformly on MagicalButter baking mats or waxed paper on a baking sheet.
  3. Add 2 teaspoons of the infused oil to the white chocolate, and melt. Gently stir.
  4. Dip a teaspoon into the melted white chocolate. Then, drizzle it over each dark chocolate-coated strawberry with a back-and-forth scribbling motion, producing a dramatic zig-zag pattern of fine white lines across the berries. Have fun—get creative!
  5. Chill your Chocolate-Covered Strawberries until the chocolate forms a crisp shell around them, about 10-15 minutes. Enjoy!

Chef’s Notes

  • In place of white chocolate you can use milk chocolate, for a shades-of-brown artistic strawberry flavor experience.
  • Make extra, because they won’t last!

 

Decadent Chocolate Fruit and Nut Trail Mix Bar

 

Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons/60-80 ml highly concentrated MagicalButter Coconut Oil or MagicalButter Cacao Butter
  • 1 pound/450 g high-quality chocolate (I mix ½ white and ½ dark, minimum 65% cacao)
  • 1 Madagascar vanilla bean, halved; use inner flesh (or 1 teaspoon/5 ml vanilla extract)
  • ¼ cup/60 ml dried blueberries, chopped
  • ¼ cup/60 ml dried cherries, chopped
  • ¼ cup/60 ml dried cranberries, chopped
  • ¼ cup/60 ml dried raisins, chopped
  • ¼ cup/60 ml  M&Ms
  • ¼ cup/60 ml pistachios, chopped
  • ¼ cup/60 ml almonds, chopped
  • ¼ cup/60 ml cashews, chopped
  • ¼ cup/60 ml peanuts, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon/5 ml sunflower lecithin

Directions:

  1. In a small mixing bowl mix the berries, nuts, and M&Ms together, and set them aside.
  2. in a double boiler slowly melt the chocolate; then add the cacao butter/ coconut oil, lecithin, and vanilla, and mix thoroughly.
  3. Pour the mixture into molds, and top with the fruit and nut combination. Refrigerate it until it is cool and hardened.
  4. Remove your Decadent Chocolate Fruit & Nut Trail Mix Bars from the molds, serve, and enjoy!

 

S’mores Squares

 

Directions:

  • ½ cup/120 ml MagicalButter (or MB Coconut Oil)
  • ½ cup/120 ml Sensual Chocolate
  • 6 cups/1420 ml miniature marshmallows
  • 5 cups/1185 ml cinnamon toast cereal

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F/165°C.
  2. In a large saucepan set to medium, heat ¼ cup/60 ml of the MagicalButter and 4 cups/950 ml of marshmallows. Stir until the mix is completely uniform in consistency.
  3. Add cereal, and stir until the consistency is again smooth and even.
  4. Apply non-stick cooking spray to a cookie sheet, and evenly spread the cereal mix onto the sheet.
  5. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler, and evenly spread it over the cereal mix.
  6. Mix the rest of the MagicalButter and marshmallows in a bowl, and evenly spread them on top.
  7. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Remove your s’mores from the oven. Let cool. Cut into squares, serve, and enjoy!

 

Chocolate Chip Croissant Pudding

 

Ingredients:

  • ⅓ cup Magical Coconut oil or MagicalButter
  • 12 small croissants, preferably stale (left out overnight)
  • 2½ cups half-and-half
  • 1 cup cane sugar
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup salted caramel sauce (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste
  • 7 large egg yolks
  • 2 large eggs

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Place all the ingredients except the croissants and chocolate chips inside your MagicalButter machine, and secure the lid.
  3. Push the Blend/Clean button. When this short cycle is complete, you’re ready to assemble your pudding.
  4. Cut the croissants into pieces about 1 to 2 inches in size. Place half of these into the bottom of your 10-by-13-inch baking dish. Top them with half the chocolate chips; then, add half the custard mixture. Repeat the process; then, gently push the floating croissant pieces into the custard mixture to soak. Cover the dish with aluminium foil.
  5. Bake your covered pudding on your oven’s center rack for 45 minutes. Then, uncover and bake it for an additional 40-45 minutes.
  6. Let your Chocolate Chip Croissant Pudding cool slightly, and serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy!

Meet The Chippies…A Pack Of Zippy, Interactive, Robotic Pups

Meet The New Hoverfly XL From GoTrax

If you’ve followed my blog for even a short amount of time, you are probably aware of the kind of landscape I live in.  It’s a very rural place in Northern Arizona that doesn’t offer much entertainment and is pretty rough on just about any outdoor toy you can think of.  My kids have been asking for a hoverboard for a while, but I just hadn’t been able to find one that was both affordable and capable of handling the pitiful desert terrain.  When I came across the Hoverfly XL from GoTrax I was cautiously optimistic, and figured I’d FINALLY give into the kids (and husband) and try one of these things out.

 

 

Until now, offroad has been pretty off-limits for hoverboards.  Thanks to the geniuses at GoTrax, everyone can enjoy the fun, including my family.  The Hoverfly XL’s rugged 8.5 inch rubber tires are a heaven send for our terrain which is not only rocky but has pesky goatheads (and if you don’t know what those are, seriously look them up…you think stepping on a Lego is bad??).  The tires aren’t the only thing heavy duty about this bad boy thougth!  The heavy-duty aluminum hubs and durable external shield can take just about whatever you can throw at it.  If it can handle Arizona, what can’t it handle?

 

 

My husband was the first one to test the Hoverfly XL out and he picked up on it SUPER quickly.  This hoverboard is self-balancing and was designed to be easier to master even faster than other boards out there on the market.  The training mode feature is a great way to start off easy, and build up your ability to mount, control, maneuver, and dismount the board.  The zero degree turn radius combined with the non-slip foot pads and fender foot guards help make this a super safe, super maneuverable, super easy to use hoverboard that’s great for the whole family to enjoy!

 

 

When my oldest son got home from school he couldn’t wait to try out the new too.  After a couple attempts to get on and ride with Dad helping him balance he was ready to take off and enjoy the new toy.  Thanks to the Bluetooth feature, I’ve actually found a way to get my 14 year old up off his bed and away from the video games (SAY WHAT?!).  The built in Bluetooth paired to my son’s phone without any issues and his new favorite hobby is riding around listening to his favorite music.  With up to 12 miles on a full charge Kenny is also enjoying his new-found freedom getting to and from friend’s houses that live close enough to ride to but that are a bit too far to walk.  Top speed is 7.4 miles per hour so in just a few minutes he’s able to get from point A to point B and cut out A LOT of walking.

 

 

I told you that my husband got the hang of riding the Hoverfly XL pretty quickly and that was no understatement.  I received the hoverboard October 30th and he wasn’t able to try it out until the afternoon when he got home from work.  The next day, by Halloween evening, he was confident enough in being able to ride that he decided to take the board into town with us when we went trick-or-treating.  When he was moving around on the hoverboard his cape was flapping in the wind and there were SO many kids that were gasping and saying “look mommy, look daddy, Superman is flying!  He’s actually flying!”  That may have just been the best part of the night (for many kids too) and it was definitely a great memory made all thanks to the Hoverfly XL.
